how buying works
Paddle sells it. Your Mac checks it.

Prices in your currency
Checkout shows the price in your currency, and it is lower in some regions. Paddle adds VAT or sales tax where it applies, or shows a price that includes it.

Paddle is the merchant of record
Paddle.com sells saferow licenses on the seller’s behalf. It takes the payment, handles tax, sends the receipt and processes refunds, and its name is on your statement.

A license by email, checked offline
Your license arrives by email with a button that opens saferow and activates it. It is a signed file the app checks on your Mac, so it keeps working offline. Activating a Mac records it once with saferow.app; move a license by deactivating a Mac in Settings › License.

What does “every 1.x update free” cover?
Every release numbered 1.something, and the public beta before it. Your license never expires: the version you have keeps working whatever happens next.
What happens to my safety features if I never buy?
Nothing. Read-only roles, counted writes, approvals, Touch ID, the ledger and 7-day Rewind are all in the free tier, and always will be.
I have a fourth Mac.
Deactivate one of the three in Settings › License, then activate the new one. Each Pro license covers one person on up to 3 Macs.
Do I pay for the AI?
Not to saferow. Local models are free and run on your Mac. If you choose a remote model, you use your own OpenRouter account or Anthropic or OpenAI key, and that provider bills you directly. saferow never resells tokens.
Can my company pay?
Yes: buy Business seats, one per person. Paddle issues the receipt and handles the tax, including a VAT or tax ID if you add one at checkout.
